Trinka is about the power of the encounter between Brazilian singer-songwriter Dandara Modesto, Portuguese composer and guitarist João Pires and Brazilian percussionist Juninho Ibituruna. Stitching together ‘música atlântica’, they build a path between Bahia, Portugal and Minas Gerais.
“Dois No Ilê” is a song about about two inseparable brothers, two Afro Brazilian deities, Oxossi and Ogum, sung in Yoruba and written by Brazilian songwriter and poet Pedro Luis. One of the gods was the king of hunting and the forests, the other the king of war and iron. It’s a transcendental number, with repetitive guitar motifs and Dandara’s ever striving and provoking voice.
